SMS Consent Process

How callers opt in to appointment confirmation text messages

This page documents the verbal consent process used by Roth Digital AI's AI phone receptionist when scheduling appointments on behalf of its client businesses. Consent to receive a text message is collected verbally, during the phone call, before any message is sent.

What the caller hears

Once a caller has agreed on a day and time for their appointment, and before the appointment is finalized, the AI receptionist asks the following question verbatim:

Spoken by the AI receptionist "Before I finish booking this, I can also send you a text message confirmation — message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime to opt out. Would you like that text confirmation?"

The caller must give a clear verbal answer before the call continues. The AI does not assume or infer a response.

What happens next

Agreeing to receive a text is never required to schedule an appointment. Declining has no effect on the booking itself.
